On Design Style: Minimalist Design

by Jul 14, 2017

The term “minimalist” denotes a design style that is devoid of ornamentation/decoration and uses only bare essentials and clean lines to create a simple and uncluttered space. It also employs natural light and monochromatic color palettes to make your place appear open and welcoming. It is said that minimalist homes will have a positive impact on your well-being.

When asking if it is cheaper to build a home that is “minimalist”, the long and short of choosing a minimalist design for your home is because of the absence of ornamentation, it’s but logical that the cost will be relatively lower. Keep in mind that having a bare space would naturally scream “decorate me!”, “make me feel special”,  or at least “make me you own”. The eyes would naturally seek out those features in a space that it could interpret as to what the space is for and who its occupants are. Whatever savings could easily be transferred to materials, devices, and function pieces that would elevate the look and feel of spaces. Thus, making your home inviting, functional, and distinctly your own.

Whether new construction or a remodel, more and more people are wanting to adopt minimalist design in their space.
