CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Architect Carmelo is well versed in architectural processes and tools used in the practice and in constant search for means of improvement and excellence through technology and innovation. He possesses a strong track record of securing new businesses and turning them into lasting business relationships.
Carmelo’s career started in joining the Property Planning Group of Ayala Land, Inc. doing research for their proposed serviced apartment projects. He then moved into the architectural arena at JBA & Associates and gradually rose the ranks to Project Architect II at Araneta Center, Inc., one of the Philippines ’ pioneers and largest mixed-use real estate developers, as OIC of the Architectural Department. His experience then extended to identifying and qualifying high-end architectural products in neighboring Asian countries when he joined Eurotiles Industrial Corp. In 2012, he headed business development at Aidea Philippines, Inc. which bagged the top prize at the Open BIM Competition – Build London Live. Playfully dubbed the first Philippine gold in the 2012 London Olympics.
In his private practice, Carmelo was the principal architect for, among others: Eucalyptus Bay Resort, Casino Filipino’s Cavite Coliseum – VIP Club, Capilla San Aemilliano, Mabuhay Deseret Cranio-Facial Surgical Clinic, ABS-CBN Studio Central – Hong Kong, and One Mercedes Plaza Mall. He also undertook a number of food chain restaurants and service corporations including Pizza Hut and Budget Rent-a-Car. He entered the international scene leading production works of the Intercontinental Hotel Wenzhou – China and The Siam Kempinski Hotel – Bangkok for Hirsch Bedner Assoc.
In addition to this, Carmelo’s romance with visual aesthetics is noticed on both paper and the built environment. With a penchant for building competent teams, he thrives in a collaborative environment.
